Google Search Console helps website owners understand how their property appears in Google Search and investigate certain visibility issues. It is useful for checking search queries and pages, but it is not a complete sales or customer-management system.

Start with verified ownership

Ask your developer to help verify the correct website property and give the business appropriate access. The account arrangement should survive a change of contractor. Avoid leaving the business dependent on a provider's personal account without a clear access plan.

Make sure you are reviewing the intended domain or URL property. Data from a temporary preview address does not describe the production website.

Look for useful query patterns

The performance report can show search queries and pages associated with impressions and clicks, subject to reporting limits. Look for themes rather than reacting to every individual phrase. Are people finding the services you actually offer? Are useful pages receiving attention?

A query that attracts visits but produces unsuitable enquiries may indicate a mismatch. A useful service question that the site answers poorly may suggest an improvement to an existing page.

Investigate missing or unexpected pages

Indexing and URL inspection tools can help identify whether a page is discoverable and how Google has processed it. Submitting a sitemap or requesting indexing is not a guarantee that every page will be indexed or rank.

Ask for an explanation of technical findings before making broad changes. A valid exclusion for a private or duplicate page is different from an accidental exclusion of an important public article.

Connect search data to business outcomes

Search Console does not by itself tell you which visitor became a paying customer. Combine its patterns with enquiry records and appropriate website analytics.

Use the tool to answer a focused question each month: which useful topics are gaining visibility, which pages need clarification and whether a technical issue is blocking access. See the official Search Console overview for its current capabilities.
